Illustration Friday: Sprout

I painted this after my cat Arthur died, during one of my Pixies phases. I was sad and listening to Doolittle over and over, because it's surreal and funny and dark, and I wish I had the pipes to let it rip like Frank when I'm mad at the world. Here's to my monkey gone to heaven!

On another note, I was feeling decidedly green and sprouty today, so I made this tiny doodle on the back of a matchbox.

Such a beautiful tribute! Pets are part of the family - it's so painful when they pass away, I'm sorry to hear about your cat.

Sorry about your cat Beatrice. Losing a pet can be devastating. Anyhow, great song and album, and great work--I especially like the matchbox one!

Ohhh... I'm so sorry about ur lost. I love my cat Fito, he's part of my family as he has being with us for seven years now. It's always terrible to see such a sweet friend pass away.

Ur illos are gorgeous!

Beautiful illo and a nice place for your kitty to have gone. I'm sure he's watching over you :)

Beautifullly touching. Colors are amazing and the softness on the line work gives it a sweetness somehow. I can imagine it was very healing to work on this.

Precious drawings. A great way to express the emotions around losing a loved one.
